Jr. Astronomy Workshops Junior Astronomy Workshop This workshop is designed for children ages 5–12. It is an introduction to the sky using the planetarium and observatory.Participants will receive a junior star chart and guidance on how to use it. The observatory is not heated so parents and children should dress accordingly. All children must be accompanied by a paid adult, throughout the program.* Paleontology/Fossil Workshop Members $15, Non-members $35 Workshop includes take-home projects and specimens for your collection. Solar Workshop Members $10, Non-members $25 Come learn about our closest star, the Sun. Astronomer David Dundee will lead a lively discussion about the Sun illustrated by some of the latest images of the Sun. Learn how the Sun works and how it affects us here on Earth. Then observe the Sun through Tellus solar telescopes. Also tour the Georgia Tech Solar House and learn how the Sun’s energy may impact our future. Stellar Astronomy Workshop Members $10, Non-members $25 Join us for a special evening with the real stars! Learn how to observe the planets, stars and constellations.
